Social Innovation Weekend (SIW) is a 48-hour-long intensive and immersive experiential workshop. Student teams will work with key public and private stakeholder organizations at the state, county, and local city level to ideate, test, develop, and pitch plans for companies, projects, or initiatives to address a pressing social or environmental problem
What is SIW?
Communities stand as vital pillars for many groups, significantly influencing livelihoods and shaping the standard of living. This weekend you are asked to challenge yourself by exploring the intricate pitfalls experienced by policy makers and the struggles faced by community members that often hinder the path to prosperity and how the two intertwine to create community experiences.

That’s okay! It’s common for these weekend events to be student’s first exposure to entrepreneurship frameworks and we provide educational content to try and level to playing field.

Unfortunately not. This is an all weekend intensive event, we ask a lot of you and your team needs a member that will be present for the entirety of the weekend.

After registering you will be given a google form to complete asking demographic questions, we will analyze these answers and place you in teams accordingly. Diverse teams have the most success because they bring together a variety of perspectives, skills, and backgrounds, fostering innovation, creativity and a broader understanding of complex problems.
